NYC Hot Sauce Expo 2014 - 5

Pin It NYC Hot Sauce Expo 2014

High River Sauces
It is always awesome seeing Steve Seabury from High River Sauces, a local NY based company. He really did a stand up job on the event again this year. High River sells a vast selection of sauces, and were previously featured on our blog. Some of my faves are Rouge, Tears of the Sun, and Hellacious. High River had the new reaper chili product available, Foo Foo Mama Choo Hot Sauce. Steve was also the man behind the expo itself. At the booth, Chris Caffery and staff were selling sauces and giving everyone a taste of their hot products. The sauces pack great heat, bold flavors, taste and are made from cool people. Two Frys highly recommends all sauces from High River.

Heartbreaking Dawns
It was awesome seeing my friend and long time blog supporter, Johnny from locally based Heartbreaking Dawns at the expo. Johnny was busy and took some time to talk to us about sauce and his new product FERVOR (Reaper Pepper). I purchased a bottle of FERVOR to make some recipes for Two Frys. We have cooked with Heartbreaking Dawns on our blog many times. I have had great success making hot wings with their hot sauces (instead of wing sauce).

Heartbreaking Dawns had extreme sauces available in addition to the original three sauces. I tried all sauces in the past years, and am never disappointed. Heartbreaking Dawns is highly recommended by Two Frys, and is one of my top favorites in the USA.

Great to see Chip Hearn (The King of Wings) at the expo again this year and speak to him about events and contests he has at the store in Delaware

Allen, Two Frys with Chip Hearn,
Chip's company Peppers has a massive mail order division as well as a retail store in LewesDE. Some companies that do demos and more at Peppers are my friends, High River Sauces and Heartbreaking Dawns.
If I shopped Peppers store, I would need a truck to bring it all home. Peppers had a variety of sauces for sale and tasting and Sriracha popcorn. They also had several catalogs available.

Big Fat's
It great to see Big Fat's again this year. I meant to talk to Jeremy the President, but he was very busy and dosing the attendees with his flavorful sauces. Bigfat's is from Niles, IL and have an extensive line of flavorful sauces.

Big Fat's
The line of sauces goes from low heat to very extreme heat with a lineup of more than 8 sauces for sale online. Big Fat's sauces are all low sodium, gluten free and vegan such as hot sauces Garlic Basil and Naga Jolokia. Get some Bigfat's for your pantry.

For those who purchased or had VIP access, one could enjoy libations and sample grilled cheese from Jarlsberg featuring slabs of Chef Ron Johnson (Chef and Owner of Mrs. Dorsey's Kitchen) Sweet 'n' Spicy Onion Jam Sam spiked with High River Sauces Tears of the Sun. I sampled some, and the sweet and habanero heat with the nutty Jarlsberg cheese was fantastic.

Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine did not have their moonshine available for sale, but samples were available. The Lemon Drop was tangy and bold. A local Bronx company Tirado Distillery, gave Sophia a taste of their Tirado El Caribe Whiskey with a touch of passion fruit and it was divine.

Ashman Manufacturing Co, a retail and wholesale company based out of Virginia Beach, VA had two products for sampling in the VIP area. KimKim Korean Hot Sauce had a very nice tangy and spicy kick. The A. Smith Bowman Hot Sauce, Barrel-Aged Bourbon Hot Sauce made with smoked Chipotle and aged in bourbon barrels is unique and delectable.

If the NYC Hot Sauce Expo is at the Penn Pavilion next year, I suggest more seating in the public and VIP areas. I am partially disabled and had a tough time finding a seat and this presents a challenge for people with disabilities.
