Yesterday, Allen and me went to The Riverdale Y Sunday Market to pick up some veggies and fruits and we ended up with a lot more as you will see below. The market is every Sunday from 9:00AM - 2:00PM at MS/HS 141, Independence Avenue & West 237th Street. We encourage residents of the Riverdale community to shop the market and support the vendors.

I bought some lovely strawberries and Allen got field tomatoes from The Orchards Of Concklin in Pomona, NY. They also sell baked goods: donuts, brownies, cookies and pies.

We headed over to Hollengold Farm from Accord, NY and bought two onions that were picked yesterday. They were down to just a few onions but next time I will buy a bunch. I washed the dirt off them real good and cooked them with some pork chops last night. The onions were so fresh and tasted great.

Next up was Bread Alone from Rhinebeck, NY and Allen bought Organic Sour Rye Bread. They also sell a nice selection of pastries and pies.

Allen got more hot sauce and Citrus Chili Dry rub at Guyank Brand, LLC (GYB) Sauces, Jellies, and Spices. Allen had a nice time chatting with K. Chasten.

I got some plums and Strawberry Butter Jam from Wright's Farm Market from Gardiner, NY. I bought an oatmeal raisin cookie and ate it on spot like the cookie monster and Allen got Homemade Old Fashioned Dilly Beans.

Allen bought some sour pickles and pickled sweet peppers from Dr. Pickle. They sell a variety of pickles, pickled veggies, mushrooms, peppers, sauerkraut and more.

Allen bought a Ribeye from Dines Farms and we are cooking it for dinner tonight.

The last stand we visited right before the market closed was The Cheese Guy from Yonkers, NY. Allen chatted with Brent Delman and bought some more cheese. Allen first tried and purchased some of the cheeses at the Riverdale River Fest and we are big fans of his cheeses.
