I made Pumpkin Spice Cookies: Heirloom Pumpkins, Squash and Gourds so click the link for the cookie recipe and royal icing. I used several cookie cutters to create fall theme cookies. Here are some sunflower cookies and sunflower themed wafer paper designs. I think sunflowers are so pretty and their yellow color is vibrant and the perfect cookie to include with fall baking. See directions below on how to use wafer paper on cookies.

Royal Icing
Sprinkles
1/4 cup of Light Corn Syrup

Use a craft knife to carefully cut the sunflower wafer paper designs.
Wafer paper is very thin and will tear easily so cut it slowly.
Use the pumpkin spice cookie and royal icing recipe in the link above.
Cut out the shapes using a rectangle cookie cutter.

After the cookies are cooled, cover them with royal icing.
Let the icing dry at least 4-5 hours or overnight before adhering the wafer paper designs onto the cookies.
Add corn syrup into a small bowl.

Dip the brush into the corn syrup and gently cover the undecorated side of the wafer paper design and then gently press onto each cookie.
Repeat this step until you have used all the wafer paper designs.

If you want to add some sprinkles, make a border around the edges of the wafer paper design with the royal icing and while it is wet, add the sprinkles and gently shake off the extra sprinkles.
Let the cookies set overnight so they do not stick together, and so the wafer paper does not tear.
